This article highlights an interesting trend. Along with Eclipse and the recent Russian Etirc investment, the former Adam A700s aquisition by Russian private equity AAIA, it appears that Epic Aircraft is not only getting their capital from Russia, but planning initial certification there as well. I suppose in these difficult capital markets, it makes sense to go where the money is. There certainly seems to be plenty of it flowing out of Russia and not just for airplanes. I am curious to know if QA/QC will be up to acceptable standards or if substantial modifications will be required to seek subsequent FAA certification.
